If, like most people, you’re adding a bathroom to your loft conversion why not add some creative touches. As part of your house that gets a lot of use, you can really get creative or do something unusual with the space. If you’re stuck for ideas, here are a few to get you started.
Add a Fireplace
What could be more relaxing then lying in a bath by a fireplace? There’s something incredibly luxurious about fireplaces throughout the house. If you can’t add a chimney onto your property or prefer not to make larger changes to your roof, you could always add an electric fire.
Bigger is Better
If your loft conversion runs along the length of your entire house, you could have a lot of space to play around with. Why not add a huge bathroom? No more fighting over the sink to brush your teeth or fumbling over each other to see in the mirror.
Fake a Sunken Bath
Adding a real sunken bath to a loft conversion can be problematic since you have to consider the ceiling below, but you could fake it by building up around the outside. You could put the bath in one of the dormer windows to use the space efficiently and make the rest of your bathroom seem bigger too.
Don’t Go for the Norm
Treat your bath as a feature and go for something beautiful and unusual. Glass edges, an unusual shape, or a striking colour can really make an impact.
Add a Wetroom
Wetrooms are increasingly popular as people want more room in the shower and enjoy the practicality of open plan spaces. You can even add seating or a larger shelf to put all of your shampoos and soaps on.
